Long Time!

Sorry friends! I know it's been a long while since our last post. July has found us to be very busy! Carter is growing like a weed. I can't believe he'll be 6 months in just a couple weeks. While I'm very excited that's he growing up and learning new things each day, the 6 month mark is very bittersweet b/c Carter won't be able to go to work with me anymore. August 7th will be his last day at KDOR and I'm really dreading it! But, I know it will be good for him to start daycare and socialize with other kids! And lucky for us, we have a GREAT day-care provider that will be watching him. We're very excited that our friend Amy will be watching him. She's great with kids and it really helps having someone that you TRUST!

We're still trying to get Carter to sit up on his own but not having much luck. He's very close, but I think his head just weighs too much! I'm really hoping that by the time he's 6 months he can do it on his own. Carter is doing really well with his sippy cup. We give him just a little bit of apple juice (mostly diluted w/ water) everyday in his cup and he's really getting the hang of it! C-man's getting quite the personality on him too. Brent and I have a feeling he's going to be quite a handful! He's very impatient (no idea where he gets that from! ha!) and anything he sees, he wants (mostly to just put in his mouth). He's really laughing a lot these days, but of course no one can make him laugh like his Daddy can :-) Brent just has the magical touch!

Since I already posted a bunch of new pics on Facebook today, I was too lazy to post them again, so feel free to click this link to check them out! Hope everyone has a great week! http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=2061850&id=62904693&l=96c3345eec

More 5 Month Pics

I tried to put these on the last post, but Blogger is acting funky today, so here they are on a new post!

5 Months Old!

Last Wednesday, July 8, I turned 5 months old! Mommy and Daddy can't believe how big I'm getting!! And since I'm such a big boy now, and always trying to grab at everyone's cups, they decided to let my try my first sippy cup!

Then I decided since I did such a good job with my cup, I'd try Mommy's beer...but she didn't think that was such a good idea!

Have a good week everyone! Love, Carter

4th of July

Hope everyone had a great 4th of July! We had a very good time! We went to my Grandma & Grandpa Bryson's house for a cook-out, then came home and sat in our back yard w/ my cousin Candace and her fiance Tuff and watched the fireworks all over town. None of us are real big on setting fireworks off ourselves, but we all like to watch them!

I had planned to spend my day off on Friday doing absolutely nothing b/c I was soooo tired from the past week's events. But of course, that didn't work out so well. The day was spent cleaning and doing laundry. I cleaned out Carter's closet & dresser and packed away all of his newborn clothes and a good portion of his 0-3 clothes (I had to make room for all his summer clothes!) And, I had to give someone TWO baths b/c he had a little poop accident in his excer-saucer! Fun stuff..... So I got to enjoy my lazy day today. It's been very nice being able to just hang out with Brent & Carter and take all the naps we want!

Speaking of naps, Carter's nap schedule has been AWESOME this weekend. He had taken at least one good nap, at least an hour long, each day this weekend. He even napped for 1 hr & 45 min today! Let's hope we can continue with this routine b/c I really believe the naps help him tremendously; he's been a VERY good boy all weekend!

Short Week!

Hello everyone! Hope that this short holiday week finds everyone doing well. We're pretty stoked for the 4th of July. It's such a fun holiday! Although Carter won't be interested in the fireworks this year, we're still looking forward to celebrating his first 4th of July!

The past week has been kind of a roller coaster with the C-man. The whole teething thing is STILL going on, and we still have yet to see any actual teeth pop through! His two bottom & top teeth and the two top fangs are there, you can see the white and everything, they just won't come on through! It's torture for the poor kid! We've also been battling the beginnings of the "Mama's Boy Syndrome" as I like to call it. It was hell trying to clean house and do laundry this weekend! But on a good note, Carter is really making progress with his rolling over and attempting to sit up. I'm hoping within the next couple weeks he'll be sitting up on his own. Carter has also picked up on spitting, sticking his tongue out at you, blowing raspberries, pulling hair, grabbing face, and hard core head butting. And as you'll see in the following pictures, his body just can't quite keep up with the growth of his giant melon, so those head butts kinda hurt :-) We also had to invest in a new bath chair b/c the 'ole baby bath tub just wasn't working out anymore. By the end of his bath, Carter would be laying sideways in the tub b/c he's such a squirmy butt! The chair works MUCH better! The horrible heat has kinda put a damper on our outside time, but we still try to take the little guy out for a little while in the evenings once it's cooled off a bit. I can't believe how much the kid loves to be outside. He can be screaming his head off in the house and the instant you step outdoors, he's fine! Walk back in the house, and it's screaming again! I hope he continues to love the outdoors as he gets older b/c Brent and I love to be outside too. Plus, I would much rather have a kid likes to be outside playing than sitting in front of the TV! We took Carter to the lake last Friday night to see G-ma & G-pa Gibson. Thank God for the camper so we could retreat to the A/C for a while, but of course someone just wanted to be outside instead, so after supper we took Bubba on a nice long walk and he fell fast asleep!

Aww Mom, I look like a girl!
Much Better!Happy boy at the lake!
Well, enjoy the pics and I hope everyone has a wonderful week!
